Call for contributions
The Society of Indexers invites contributions for our 2026 online conference, taking place via Zoom on 11–12 November 2026. We will have a full programme over two days comprising plenary (full conference) presentations and smaller breakout sessions. The theme of this year’s conference is ‘On the Same Page: Indexers Embracing Collaboration’, inspired by the advantages to be gained by indexers working together with other indexers, and the importance of our professional relationships in the publishing and library and information science worlds.
Suggested topics of interest are collaborative experiences between fellow indexers, successful project liaison with authors and publishers, cooperation across international indexing societies, strengthening mutual ties with other related professional societies, and how working together can help with current challenges in publishing. We welcome proposals for plenary papers, interactive breakout sessions, panel discussions and five-minute ‘lightning talks’, and would particularly like to hear from new voices.

- presenter name, position/affiliation, speaking experience and contact details
- session title and preferred format
- session content overview and relation to conference theme (300 words maximum).
Proposal decisions will be confirmed by the end of August 2026.
