General Experience

I am a professional member of the Society of Indexers.

I work both with academic and trade publishers as well as individual authors.  I strive to work with each individual to provide the best possible index for their book, am a good communicator and observe all deadlines.

My specialisms include all aspects of horticulture and the environment, history, law and order, business management, literature, art and crafts, geography, and music.  I am also open to indexing texts in other disciplines at general readership level.

In a varied career I have worked both as a horticulturist with the National Trust before setting up my own gardening business, and also a caseworker within the Criminal Justice System.  I hold formal qualifications in both these areas as well as being educated to Postgraduate level.

Subjects

Horticulture

I am a professionally trained horticulturist, initially with the National Trust, then in my own gardening business.

I also hold the RHS (Royal Horticultural Society) Level 3 Diploma in the Principles of Plant Growth, Health and Applied Propagation which I passed with distinction.

I have also worked as a volunteer for the RHS events department, and Hardy Plant Society where I maintained and updated their seed collection records for the society’s seed distribution scheme.
