Conference programme
The Society of Indexers’ 2026 online conference will take place via Zoom on 11–12 November 2026. We will have a full programme over two days comprising plenary (full conference) presentations and some smaller breakout sessions. The theme of this year’s conference, ‘On the Same Page: Indexers Embracing Collaboration’, is inspired by the advantages to be gained by indexers working together with other indexers, and the importance of our professional relationships in the publishing world.
The collaborative theme will be apparent throughout the conference, with many sessions involving panel discussions and presentations from groups of indexers, while breakout sessions will facilitate small-group interaction between participants.
Conference sessions will look at the different ways indexers are working together with one another, and with authors and clients, and we will also look at the changing software landscape, as well as the latest situation with AI.

Booking details
Booking will open on Monday 14 September via the Events section of the website or by using this link. If time zones or other commitments prevent you from attending every single session, if you’re registered for the conference, you will have access to recordings of all plenary sessions for a full year.
