The Society of Indexers is celebrating National Indexing Day for the tenth successive year on Tuesday 31 March 2026. This year we will be celebrating with a half-day in-person workshop for publishing professionals in London, as well as online across social media with the tag #IndexDay.
The workshop will take place at the Publishers Association, and will run twice in the day. A series of presentations by professional indexers will cover the value of human indexes, how indexes make information accessible, and how technology can contribute to accessible indexes, including an update on AI and indexing. There will also be an interactive practical session for participants to try live indexing and time for questions and discussion.
