General Experience

I have been indexing for 15 years. I am a former Librarian with experience in cataloguing and classification. I have a first degree in History and English, specialising in Local history. I have spent many years studying with the Open University and gained a degree in Social Science. Modules I have studied include: human geography, environment, film and television studies, religion, philosophy, art history, and an introduction to astronomy. I also gained a Certificate in Contemporary Science and am currently studying towards a degree in Economics and Mathematical Sciences. I have worked for RNIB, the Society of Genealogists, in a university Careers Service, and the Centre for Research in Ethnic Relations. I am an expert on the civil disturbances of the 1980s.

I have a degree in History and English. My interests include Early Modern Britain and Europe, 18th-19th century British history, political history, religious history, and social history in general. I have worked on books on a variety of historical subjects including the Reformation, history of Greece, Scottish history, and local history.

English Literature

I have a degree in History and English. I have indexed a lot of books about Shakespeare.

Social Sciences (All Areas)

I have a degree in Social Sciences from the Open University and have worked on indexes for books on a wide variety of Social Science subjects. I previously worked in the Ethnicity and Migration collection of the University of Warwick Library and am an expert on the inner city riots of 1980s Britain.

Cinema and Film

I have indexed several books on films based on Shakespeare plays and also on independent films. I studied a module on Film and Television History with the Open University.

British History

I have a degree in History and English and specialised in Early Modern history, local history, and 18th-19th century British history. I am also an expert on the inner city riots of 1980s Britain. I have indexed books on lost villages of Britain and Scottish history.

European History

I have a degree in History and English and specialised in Early Modern history in Britain and Europe. I am especially interested in Reformation Europe and have indexed a book on this. I have also worked on books on the history of Greece and Baltic countries.

Local History

I have a degree in History and English and specialised in Local History for my final year. My undergraduate dissertation was on the local history of Chesterfield. I also wrote a dissertation on the use of census returns for my Masters degree in Library and Information Studies. I worked at the Society of Genealogists for 3 years.

Classical Studies

I have A Level Classical Civilisation and an interest in Classical Studies, particularly literature, drama, history, and philosophy.

Mythology/Folklore

I have A Level Classical Civilisation and an interest in mythology and folklore from different countries and cultures.

Politics

I have indexed a lot of books on political subjects ranging from the Scottish constitution to the politics of the Middle East.

Genealogy/Family History

I worked at the Society of Genealogists for 3 years and have studied family history resources as part of my History and English degree.

Philosophy (All Areas)

I have indexed a lot of books about philosophy covering most of the major philosophers.

Information Management

I am a qualified Librarian and worked in different types of libraries and information environments for several years.

Mathematics

I am currently studying for a degree in Economics and Mathematical Sciences with the Open University, which includes Maths and Statistics
