I am a non-practising solicitor. From 1983 to 2007 I was in practice, dealing with all areas of family law. Through volunteering as a generalist adviser at a Citizens Advice Bureau I have some familiarity with other legal issues including welfare benefits, employment, and housing. Throughout my time in practice I did a substantial amount of legal aid work, and I have a basic knowledge of the current legal aid scheme. I have indexed books, mostly practitioners’ textbooks, on a wide range of legal topics. I am happy to index books up to and including that level about all areas of law except jurisprudence and legal theory.

Throughout my time in practice I dealt exclusively with all areas of family law including matrimonial proceedings, financial issues, domestic violence, Children Act cases (private law and public law), wardship, adoption, and international child abduction. I have indexed books on a wide range of legal topics. I would welcome commissions to index books at any level about family law.

I have an A level in history and the subject remains a personal interest. I would welcome commissions to index books on British history (including medieval history) intended for a general readership.
