General Experience
I am an accredited indexer with an accounting, human resource and business management background. My other subject specialisms are the natural world, sport, walking, local history, family history, cooking, gardening and non-profit/charity sector organisations.
Subjects
I worked as a management accountant for many years in both the manufacturing and non-profit/charity sectors. Gaining experience in financial reporting, forecasting, budgetary controls, costings, asset management and stock control.

I have a good working knowledge of employment policies and procedures. In the past I have been involved with TUPE transfers and union negotiations.
I have comprehensive experience in financial management for the voluntary sector and SORP charity accounting rules.
I have a love and fascination of the natural world, with a special interest in earth sciences, birdwatching and bats. I am a member of the RSPB and Derbyshire Wildlife Trust.
I have been interested in birdwatching for the past 30 years. I index newsletters for the RSPB.
Studied geology to A level and have a genuine interest in geology and fossils.
I have very good local history knowledge of Derbyshire, the Peak District and the Isle of Wight.
I am interested in most sports. My specialisms are football, swimming and swimming teaching, golf and walking.
Walking is one of my favourite hobbies, mostly in Derbyshire and the Peak District, but also in the Lake District and Yorkshire.
I’m a big fan of both men’s and women’s football.
Good experience of playing golf.
I have a large collection of cookery books and an interest in cooking a wide variety of foods.
A good practical knowledge of growing vegetables, flowers and shrubs.
A general interest in all pets, especially dogs.
Personal experience of creating both maternal and paternal family trees.
Interested in the history, beliefs and theories of Christianity.
A good knowledge of the zodiac and Chinese horoscopes.
A general interest in crafts especially basket weaving.
A good knowledge of travel and tourism throughout England.
