engineering information, IT systems development and project
management. 25 years indexing experience, originally in the
engineering industry, and after going freelance in 2002 in new
technologies, architecture, building and construction, environmental
design and health science. Particular interest in sustainable building
design and heritage conservation. Have always met deadlines and taken
a flexible approach to meeting clients’ requirements. Happy to work

Recent examples include Intermediate Building Contract Guide (RIBA), Buildings in Extreme Environments – Cold Climates (CIBSE), Construction Management and Organisational Behaviour (Wiley). For English Heritage I indexed the multi-volume series, Practical Building Conservation.
I have a particular interest in this topic and have indexed, for example, The Art of Building a Garden City (RIBA for the Town and Country Planning Association (TCPA), Remaking Post-Industrial Cities (Donald K. Carter, Ed.), Urban Planning’s Philosophical Entanglements

I have a career background in Engineering. Indexed works in these fields include Sustainable Futures in the Built Environment Dixon/Connaughton/Green Eds), Resource efficiency of building services (CIBSE), Infrastructural Lives: Urban infrastructure in context (Stephen Graham and Colin McFarlane).
I have indexed many works in this field for The Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) and for commercial publishers, for example: Designers Guide to Energy Efficiency in Electrical Installations (Cameron Steel), Electrical Energy Storage Systems: Code of Practice (IET), Photovoltaic Power Systems: Modelling, Design and Control (Weidong Xiao).
Experience mainly in electromechanical systems and mechanical systems in buildings.
I have a degree in Physics and for several years I worked in the energy sector, including the nuclear sector.
Much of my experience is broadly in the field of technology, including new technology and technology impacts.
I have a degree in Physics. Recently indexed works include X‐Ray Absorption Spectroscopy for the Chemical and Materials Sciences (John Evans), and Principles and Practices of Molecular Properties: Theory, Modeling, and Simulations (Norman, Saue and Ruud).
.
I am familiar with climate change impacts, mitigation and adaptation, especially carbon emissions reduction and passive building design measures. Indexed texts include Targeting Zero: Embodied and Whole Life Carbon explained (RIBA), Sustainable Futures in the Built Environment Dixon/Connaughton/Green Eds), and work for the International Panel on Climate Change (IPCC).
