General Experience
I’m a professional member of the Society of Indexers and was Highly Commended for the Betty Moys Award 2020.
I index books across the arts and humanities spectrum. I have particular expertise in history, literature, film, theatre, cultural studies, biography, gender studies, sociology and lifestyle books.
Before becoming an indexer I worked in arts marketing for over a decade, first for an independent cinema, then for a theatre. Rewinding further back, I worked as an academic librarian as a subject specialist for the arts faculty, before moving into public libraries and working as a Project Officer on children’s literacy initiatives.
I studied English and History at the University of Leeds, then Information Studies at Leeds Metropolitan University.
Testimonials from recent clients:
“I’m so pleased with the service offered by Anna Lord and highly recommend her to anyone interested in indexing services. Anna was able to distil all the major themes of the text into an index that my readers will find extremely useful when navigating my book. The whole process from start to finish was very smooth, and Anna made this part of the book’s production stress free. Thank you so much!”
