General Experience

I have a BSc in Botany & Zoology. I was an indexer for the Zoological Record, (an abstract and citation database of scholarly zoological literature) for 27 years. Zoological Record also serves as the unofficial register of scientific names in zoology, so I have extensive experience of indexing taxonomic name changes, including new names, new synonyms and new name combinations.

I have been an active member of the Yorkshire Mammal Group for over 25 years. I recently compiled a cumulative index for the Group’s annual newsletter Imprint. Imprint index

I am interested in natural history, conservation, environmental issues and local history. I enjoy walking in the countryside, gardening and handicrafts.

I am happy to consider commissions for works aimed at a general readership in most subject areas.
